The Erie Zone has a booth at the Erie County Fair in August. Being one of the largest county fairs in the country, the zone reaches out to thousands of people with the Good News, with information about Lutheran Hour Ministries. It also provides Bibles, numerous Christian pamphlets and brochures, along with items for children. Eleven churches (approximately 90 people) staffed the booth last year.
Several schools, Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible
Schools participate in the "By
Kids...For Kids"Î program, by sending school supplies, individual letters
and pictures, and Bible storybook, to children in other countries. The project
is an uplifting experience for children and adults involved in the program.
During the 2001-2002 school year, schools had the opportunity again to participate
in "By Kids - For Kids" and "Teacher-To-Teacher"
program. The items collected during the 2001-2002
>school year, will benefit students and teachers in Latvia.
The zone maintains contact with its churches providing publicity via letters, FAX, and phone calls regarding: 1) changes in time and stations for The Lutheran Hour, 2) Lutheran Hour Ministries' Christmas television specials, and 3) the district convention.
