The Rev.
Dr. Walt Winters, Director of International Ministries for the
Int'l Lutheran Laymen's League,
will be the International Representative. He has served as director since
May 1995. Previously, he was assistant director of the department
from 1990 - 1995. In his current position, Winters overseas the international ministries
department in St. Louis, as well as 40 offices and ministry
centers worldwide; supervises
fund-raising for overseas department expansion; and provides congregational
referrals to those seeking spiritual guidance.
Prior to joining Lutheran
Hour Ministries, in St. Louis, Winters served as Philippine missionary
counselor for the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod
(LCMS) and district
secretary and member of the District Board of Directors. He was director
of the Philippine Lutheran Hour; chairman of the Board of Concordia Children's
Services;
vice-chairman of the Board of Christian Language Study Center; and chairman
of the Association of Mission Administrators. He also worked as a field
missionary
and church planter.
Winters earned a master's degree in Arts and Theology
from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, and a bachelor's degree
from Concordia Senior
College, Fort
Wayne, IN. He received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree (May 2000)
from Concordia University,
Seward, NE. He is chairman of the evangelism board at his home church.

Hour Ministries, with headquarters in St. Louis, MO, is a service
of the International Lutheran Laymen's League (Int'l LLL),
a volunteer
