The Sylvania Zone plans the summer's camp (Luthercrest) program for girls and boys (held in mid-July). The zone distributes application forms and information about the camp to all area congregations. Also, the zone advertises the event in the Pittsburgh Lutheran and the zone's newsletter.
The zone participates in the Butler Farm Show (held the beginning of August). Venango County 4H Fair (held mid-August) and the Big Knob Grange Fair (held the end of August). In addition to using its display booth and material at the fairs, the zone uses its display unit and materials throughout the year to promote the Lutheran Laymen's League at various organizational events in the zone.
The zone supports its local congregations by providing volunteers to usher at the Concordia Festival (end of July) at Camp Luthercrest (Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, PA) and at the Pittsburgh Reformation Service (sponsored by Pittsburgh area Lutheran Ministries [PALM]) at the end of October at First Lutheran, Sharpsburg, PA.
